What are limiting beliefs?

Limiting beliefs are unconscious assumptions we make about ourselves, others, or the world. “I’m not capable”, “It’s too late for me”, “People always let me down”, “I can’t do it!”.

These beliefs often form in early life and go unquestioned, compounding over time and often are global, preceded by words like ‘always’, ‘never’, ‘every time’ — yet unconsciously they shape every decision we make.

In therapy, we shine light on these old stories, patterns, and replace them with beliefs that align with the life you want to create.

Releasing what no longer serves you

Limiting beliefs are deeply held thoughts or assumptions that we accept as truth — often without questioning them. They usually form early in life based on past experiences, cultural messages, or emotional pain. Over time, they shape how we see ourselves, others, and the world.
These beliefs can quietly but powerfully influence our choices, confidence, and well-being and self-esteem.
Left unexamined, they can keep us stuck in patterns of fear, doubt, avoidance and anxiousness — preventing us from reaching goals or feeling fulfilled.
Common examples of limiting beliefs: “I’m not good enough.” “People always leave.” “I’ll never be successful.” “If I speak up, I’ll be judged.” “I’m too old to change.” “Nothing ever works out for me.”
Imagine what it would feel like to let go of these old stories — to stop carrying their weight.

In our sessions, you'll learn to recognise the limiting beliefs holding you back and begin rewriting them. Instead of feeling stuck, you'll start to respond to life with greater clarity, confidence, and freedom.
